Edmonton is a great place to raise a family even though it gets cold in winter and maybe be boring for some. It's easy to take Canada for granted untill you look at trouble spots in the world. Take a look at this video which shows City of Edmonton vision for the north LRT to Nait. The original railroad system became first operational in 1978. The engineers included 2 knock out panels in the original design at the Churchill station for the future route to the north. As of 2010 , the city began construction of the extension of the railway to NAIT. The City plans to have the system operational at the end of April of 2014.

The average sold price for single detached homes is down by 1.6 percent in August to $366,788 compared to last month of 372,741. Condominium prices were also down by less than one percent to $242,035.There were a total of 1,673 sales last month as compared to 2,277 in July through the Edmonton and Area Multiple Listing Service®. We are half way through 2009, with the summer almost behind us and the kids and their parents are getting ready for another school year. It was a great last couple months for Edmonton and area real estate. Prices have stabilized , the inventory has decreased to the levels close to December and January numbers ( historically slow months ) and we are all eager to see how the market will proceed in the few next months. >> read more

The prices and inventory remain stable .There are currently 296 condos for sale up by a notch from 293 from July, 248 under 500K and 48 above that range.
